After 3 Years of Pandemic-Induced Hiatus, PTEI S2 FT UNY Sends Candidates for Dual Degree Program to NCU, Taiwan

The Master’s Program in Electronics and Informatics Education at FT UNY (PTEI S2 FT UNY) has resumed its dual degree program, which has been ongoing since 2018 with the National Central University, Taiwan (NCU). After a three-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the program resumed on Saturday, September 2, 2023.

This time, the two selected students embarking on the dual degree program for the academic year 2023/2024 are Mahendra Astu Sanggha Pawitra and Cipto Sabdo Prabowo. Both students underwent a rigorous selection process to earn this opportunity.

The dual degree program between PTEI S2 FT UNY and NCU is a significant international cooperation initiative in the field of electronics and informatics education. This program not only provides valuable academic experiences but also opportunities to collaborate with leading professors in the field.

These two students have identified professors who will guide them at NCU. Mahendra Astu Sanggha Pawitra will be mentored by Prof. Hui-Chun Hung in the Educational Data Analytics Laboratory, while Cipto Sabdo Prabowo will receive guidance from Prof. Wu-Yuin Hwang in the High Interaction in Multimedia Laboratory. Both professors have extensive experience in their respective fields and will serve as mentors to the students throughout the dual degree program.

During their two semesters at NCU, both dual degree candidates will engage in various academic activities, including coursework, research, and thesis writing. This program offers students the opportunity to delve deeper into their areas of study and contribute to the knowledge in the field of electronics and informatics.

In addition to this exceptional academic opportunity, both students will receive a stipend of Rp3,000,000 per month for two semesters at NCU. This will assist them in covering living expenses while studying abroad.

Dean of FT UNY, Prof. Herman Dwi Surjono, expressed his pride in this opportunity. “The dual degree program with NCU is a highly valuable form of collaboration for us. We are extremely proud of Mahendra and Cipto for being selected for this program. We believe they will be outstanding ambassadors for FT UNY and make significant contributions to the advancement of knowledge in the field of electronics and informatics.”

The dual degree program between PTEI S2 FT UNY and NCU is expected to continue serving as a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experiences among educational institutions, helping students develop in an international environment, and enhancing the quality of electronics and informatics education in Indonesia. We wish Mahendra Astu Sanggha Pawitra and Cipto Sabdo Prabowo success in their academic journey in Taiwan and hope they bring back valuable experiences to share with their colleagues at FT UNY.”
